Bed & Breakfast De Hemme
Comfort in a countryside atmosphere. Our in 2004 rebuild farmhouse is located in an outlying area between historical Kolhorn and the village Barsingerhorn. This part of Holland is the West-Frisian countryside where hospitality is written in capitals.
Hemme, meaning farmyard, is the original name of this former 1799 straw roofed farmhouse.
Our one-room floor-heated b&b is adjacent to a small nature reserve. Although it is part of our house, you have your own entrance and a small terrace in a seperate part of the garden. Inside you'll find a big sized bed with new matrasses, a spacious bathroom with two sinks, one toilet, a bidet and a walk-in shower. You enjoy breakfast at a small table and relax in the lazy cow-armchair with your self made Nespresso or cup of tea. A refrigerator is at your service.
Start your walk or bicycle tour outside the b&b. Wander along the fields or use the route signs of the Omring-dyke (cycle) or Noord-Holland-path (walk).
Sailing is also possible in this provence.
There are two restaurants within 2 kilometers distance. Supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and a cinem are only 8 kilometers away in the regional city of Schagen. You can also take the train there for a trip to Den Helder, Hoorn, Alkmaar or even to Amsterdam.
